Video 1 - Getting Started, What This is All About

Here is a quick look at Wordpress which is what we use to build our websites. It's super easy!

So basically, Wordpress is a really easy way to make websites. You just add pages and make them look the way you want :P

Video 2 - Fixing Old E-Cigarette Reviews

Okay so the video is a little long but basically you are going through and making little cosmetic fixes to the review so that it looks good!

Here's the checklist so you remember all the things :P


1. Change Review Name to: "Brand Name E-Cigarette Review" to keep things consistent.

2. Change the link under to that to http://quitsmokingcommunity.org/brand-name-review

3. Click "Page Settings" on the gray bar at the top, And then Under "Choose Main Sidebar" pick "Ecigarette Guides" (this makes it so the e-cigarette sidebar shows up since it's an e-cigarette page)

4. On the right sidebar, there is a pulldown menu that says "Parent", scroll down and choose "Best Electronic Cigarette Brands 2015" - this makes it so that the review goes under the "electronic cigarettes" section of the site.

5. Find the company logo from Google Images - one that fits well at the top of the page. Just a google search for 'brand name' and then clicking images will give you something. Save it as "brand-name-logo'

6. Delete Whatever Photo Is At the Top of the Page Currently

7. Hit "Upload Media" then "Select Files" and choose the company logo you just downloaded
-Link to: None
-Make It Full Size
-Put 'brand name review' in the box that says "Alt"
-Hit "Insert Into Page"
-Make sure it is centered

8. Put this: [br] between the photo you just posted and the heading below it to make some space

8. Go to the brand's main website and copy the exact url of their home page. (Ex http://bedfordslims.com or http://smoketip.com)

9. Go back to Wordpress and hit "Create Shortcode" then choose "Button".

10. Put the link of the company's website you copied into the first box, everything else should be set. Hit "Insert Shortcode" and it will put the button onto the page. This button now looks super beautiful and takes people to the company website!

11. Copy the button shortcode, It looks like this:

12. Go to bottom of page and replace the link at the very bottom with that hunk of text you just copied. (This gets rid of the ugly old button and puts our new pretty button there)

13. Go down past the article to the box that looks like this:

14. Change the "Feature Names" to the ones in this picture.

15. For the "Percentage" just make up numbers really. These brands are all kinda bad so just put in random ratings haha.

16. Almost done! Now go down a bit further to this box:

17. Change the "SEO Title" to "Brand Name Review - Expert E-Cig Reviews"

18. Write something in the "Meta Description" Box. It doesn't have to even make much sense, just play around it doesn't matter. Try to get people to click our link when they're searching on Google haha.

19. Hit "Preview" to make sure everything looks right.

20. If it Does, Hit "Publish" and the page will be live!

21. Copy the URL of the post that you just published. It is whatever is in the Address Bar after you hit "Publish"

22. Hit "Admin Bar" then hold your mouse over the "Quit Smoking Community" thing, and click the Widget's option.

Take this code:

And just put the URL of the page you just made where the blue text is, and then "Brand Name Review" where the blue text is.

Put it in with all the others in the widget box. This lets us have links to all of the reviews in the sidebar so people can access them!
